Updates on Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 Regional Qualifier – Cologne, Germany

We have been made aware of two cases of improper play at the recently concluded Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 Cologne, Germany, and have confirmed both incidents in our investigations.

The first incident involved an extra card being drawn. For this case, the following penalty will be imposed on the player in question under the following infraction:
Drawing Extra Cards — Game loss resulting in an adjustment of their Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 Regional Qualifier placement

The second incident involved a player manipulating the deck to gain an advantage. For this case, the following penalty will be imposed on the player in question under the following infraction:
Deck Manipulation — Disqualification and 12-months ban from taking part in any Bushiroad Official Tournaments, Bushiroad Sanctioned Tournaments, and/or any tournaments that utilize Bushi Navi (until Feb. 13, 2026)

We would like to remind all players to remain vigilant whilst playing their games. We urge the community to remain civil in their discussions of this incident and refrain from making comments or videos that intentionally target groups or individuals related to the incident. Thank you for your understanding.

General FAQ

How do Finalists register for Worlds?

All confirmed Finalists will be automatically signed up to their respective event via Bushi Navi. Finalists will then have to register a Deck Log code in the app under “My Events.”

DEADLINE:

  • Finalists attending the Reception Party on May 1 must have a Deck Log code registered before checking in.

  • Checked in finalists will still have the opportunity to edit their Deck Log codes on Bushi Navi until May 1, 11:59 PM (JST).

  • Finalists who are unable to attend the Reception Party should still register a Deck Log code on Bushi Navi before May 1, 11:59PM (JST).

    • Staff may accept manual Deck Log submissions for unregistered players on May 2, 8:30AM only as necessary. Requests for edits will not be accepted.

Please make sure you have all cards with you as well as spare sleeves and/or oversleeves as there are no vendors on site.

How will Finalists receive their Participation Prizes?

Participation Prizes will be distributed on-site at the venue. Details can be found on the BCS 24/25 World Finals Discord Server, available to all confirmed Finalists.

I can no longer attend World Finals, can I have the Participation Prizes picked up by a third party/sent to me at a later date?

No. Finalists must be present at the event in order for them to receive their Participation Prizes.

Can I request the Name Tag cards be blank when I receive them?

No. You are required to have your Bushi Navi Handle ID written on the card.

I qualified for World Finals at more than 1 location for the same game/I qualified for a World Finals for more than 1 game or format. Am I allowed more than one set of the Participation Prizes?

No, you will only receive the Participation Prize for the game you accepted the invitation for, regardless of the number of times or games/formats you qualified for. For more details, please see the Home tab of the Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 page.

Are spectators allowed to attend the World Finals?

No. Only competitors will be allowed inside the venue hall.

Game Specific FAQ

Can I use official Japanese or other language-edition cards for items outside of the main deck? e.g. Energy Generator, Energy cards, center markers, Evolution Points, tokens, etc.

No, only English Edition Cards may be used.

Can I use cards from a non-Bushiroad TCG or a Bushiroad TCG that is not from the game I’m playing for items outside of the main deck?

No. You can only use the appropriate cards for items outside of the Main Deck for your game.

Can I use custom card supplies (sleeves, playmats, token markers etc.) or card supplies from non-Bushiroad games?

No. Unlicensed, or custom card supplies, and/or card supplies from non-Bushiroad TCGs are not allowed.

Can I use more than two layers of sleeves for my cards (main deck, tokens, etc.)?

For this event, only a maximum of 2 layers of sleeves will be allowed for all cards/games. Top loaders, plastic card cases etc. will not be allowed.

Example:

  • Card + Sleeve + Over Sleeve: ⭕️

  • Card + Perfect Fit Sleeve + Sleeve: ⭕️

  • Card + Perfect Fit Sleeve + Sleeve + Over Sleeve: ❌

Can I use cards from Cardfight!! Vanguard DZ-BT07 “Moon Fangs & Cerulean Blaze” in the World Finals Tournament?

Yes. Cards from DZ-BT07 “Moon Fangs & Cerulean Blaze” can be used for the Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 World Finals.

Can I use a die/coin/other devices with my Energy Tracker?

No, you must use a marker with no numerical value printed on it as a marker for the Energy Tracker. If you are unable to use such a marker, please use a set of energy cards.

Weiß Schwarz

Can I use titles that are only eligible in certain territories in the World Finals Tournament?

Yes. All English Edition titles will be allowed during the Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 World Finals.

Shadowverse: Evolve

Can I use dice/cards/pen and paper/etc. to track my Play Points/Evolution Points/Leader Defense?

No. You are only allowed to use the following Official English edition materials to track each resource:

  • Shadowverse: Evolve Sidekick App [Play Points, Leader Defense]

  • Shadowverse: Evolve Starter Deck Paper Mats with Play Point Tracker [Play Points]

  • Evolution Point Cards [Evolution Points]

General

Card Legality
  • Only English edition cards may be used.
  • All cards can be used 1 week after its official release date.
Deck
  • Players must use the same deck throughout a tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament.
  • All decks must be registered via Deck Log.
Eligibility

The tournament is open to all players except the following:

  • Organizer of the tournament
  • Staff of the tournament
  • Head Judge of the tournament
  • Judges of the tournament

Please ensure that your Bushi Navi account has been authenticated by SMS before registering for any Regional Championship.



 

Cardfight!! Vanguard

Sleeves Players are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of the cards cannot be easily distinguished.

Oversleeves with a matte finishing on one side and gloss finishing on the other side are allowed. However, the matte finishing has to be uniform on either the front or back of the cards. Oversleeves with patterns or borders are not allowed.

Only officially licensed sleeves may be used.

Main Deck

  • Standard sized sleeves are not allowed for use for your main deck.
  • Sleeves used for all cards in the main deck must be of the same design.

Ride Decks & G Decks

  • Sleeves must be used for cards in the ride deck and G deck.
  • Sleeves must also be used for the ride deck crest.
  • You may use sleeves with the same design for both your ride deck and G deck.
  • Sleeves must have a different design from your main deck.

Aid Items

  • You may choose whether to use sleeves for token cards, marker cards, and cards used to count energy.
  • If you choose to use sleeves, please use different sleeves from your main deck.
  • Please do not use sleeve combinations that may cause disruptions to the fight.
Aid Items Players are only allowed to use the following aid items:

  • Official energy counters
  • Power counters
  • Dice
  • Card status markers
Time-up Policy Swiss
A double loss will be issued to both players. No extra time will be awarded.

Top Cut
Players have 10 minutes to finish 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or at the end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the player with less damage wins the game. If damage is the same, both players play until the next instance of damage is taken.

Finals
There will be no time limit for the final match.

Format
Standard Format:
Standard will be held in a team format, with 3 players in each team. All 3 players must have unique ride decks. Players may play the same Nation as their teammates, but all cards in their ride deck must not overlap with any card from the teammates’ ride decks with the exception of the Ride Deck Crest (“Energy Generator”).

If there are 8 and below participating teams, the tournament may be held in an Individual format.

Players are strongly recommended to use sleeves that differ from their other sleeves for their main deck.

In addition, devices with the Shadowverse: Evolve Sidekick app can be used specifically for use of the app.

Tournament Related

Are Japanese edition cards allowed in any official Bushiroad Summer Fest 2025 tournament?

No, only English edition cards may be used in official Bushiroad Summer Fest 2025 tournaments. Mixing of cards with multiple languages in the deck is not allowed as well.

Am I allowed to use oversleeves?

Players are not allowed to use patterned oversleeves. However, emboss/matte/textured oversleeves of the appropriate size may be used.

Can I purchase cards from other players during Regional Championship events?

No. Players may trade cards, but are not allowed to buy/sell cards from other players at our events.

Can I play other card games at Regional Championship events?

No. Players are only allowed to play Bushiroad card games at the Regional Championship events, unless another sanctioned card game tournament is taking place at the same venue.

Are there any entry fees?

There are no entry fees to any Regional Championship events. However, players may have to pay to enter the venue if a Regional Championship is held within another event which requires an entry fee.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Regional Championship event is held but I am currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate in that Regional Championship event?

Yes, you are allowed to participate in any Regional Championship event, regardless of where you are residing and regardless of your nationality.

Am I allowed to spectate games?

Anyone is allowed to spectate games, but spectators must cooperate with staff and judges in maintaining an appropriate distance and not interfering with players during a game.

In a team format, players may not spectate their teammates’ games if they have left their seat.

Can I attend the event even if I’m not registered for a tournament?

The event is open to the public with no admission fees. Kindly note that general admission may not open until after tournament check-in has concluded.

Do I need to pre-register for tournaments?

Pre-registration on Bushi Navi is not strictly required, but strongly recommended as each event has a maximum capacity. For team events, please note that your pre-registration will not be “Selected” until all 3 team members have joined on Bushi Navi.

Players will be able to register on-site if maximum capacity has not been reached. If maximum capacity is reached before the event date, players will be able to join the waitlist, and waitlisted players will be able to check-in in waitlist order.

Do I need to pre-register for side events?

Side event registration will be done exclusively on-site. Please follow staff instructions at the event.

Will the event have free Wi-Fi for me to use Bushi Navi?

Internet availability varies by venue, and is not guaranteed. It is recommended to bring a mobile device with stable connection. Players with no connection will be able to check each round’s pairings and report results with the Tournament Organizer.

Will there be a lunch break?

There are no planned breaks in the tournament schedule. However, the Tournament Organizer at each event may announce if a break is planned.

Will there be food on sale at the event? Can I bring and consume my own food?

Food and beverage policies vary by venue. For all events, please refrain from consuming any open food or beverage in the tournament area.

Will there be a parking fee?

Parking policies vary by venue. Please consult the venue’s website for details.

Am I allowed to use my own card supplies (sleeves, deck cases, playmats) during Regional Championship events?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own card supplies as long as they are licensed products.

Aside from official Bushiroad products, in terms of supplies such as sleeves and playmats etc, what am I permitted to use at Regional Championship events?

Supplies from competing trading card game brands are strictly not allowed. Any other supplies must be officially licensed and have a copyright on it.

Can promo cards only be used 1 week after they are officially released, in any Regional Championship event?

Yes, promo cards are also subject to the same Card Legality rules.

I want to enter the team tournament, but I don’t have any teammates yet. Can I form a team at the event?

You are welcome to recruit other players at the event during the check-in period if you wish. The Tournament Organizer and staff may assist at their discretion, but team formation is the sole responsibility of players.

We formed a team of only two members. Will we be allowed to enter the tournament?

A team must have 3 players registered on Bushi Navi in order to check in.

One of my teammates had to leave during the tournament, and now we only have two members. Will we be allowed to play the remaining rounds?

You may continue, but a missing team player will be considered an automatic loss for that game. Both remaining team members must win their games in order to win the match.

How do I know which team member to play against?

Please check the seating order on Bushi Navi to confirm your opponent at the beginning of each round. (e.g. Player A VS Player A)

Can I communicate with my teammates during a match?

No, teammates may not communicate while their match is ongoing.

Additionally, if a player wishes to leave their seat while one of their teammates is still playing a game, they must leave the tournament area until the match has concluded.

Do all three team members need to report their game’s result?

Only one team member needs to report the result on Bushi Navi. This result is for the entire match, and individual game scores are not recorded. The team that won two or more games will win the match.

If both teams have one win and two losses each due to one game resulting in a double loss, what will the match result be?

The match will result in a double loss for both teams.

If I won my game, and both of my teammates received a double loss, will my team win the match?

The match will result in a double loss for both teams. A match win will only be granted to teams that have won two or more games.
