Format & Regulations

General

Format Individual & Team League
Eligibility

The event is grouped into 3 regions:

  • North/Latin America
  • Europe
  • Asia-Oceania

Anyone may participate in any Regional Championships held in the same region as where the participant is residing (Asia-Oceania AO, Europe EU or North/Latin America NA/LA).

Language Only English edition cards may be used.
Cards Cards from new expansions are legal to use from the expansion’s official release date.
Cards from expansions which are available after Sneak Preview / Pre-sale events are not allowed for use in the tournaments until the expansions are officially released.
Deck A player must use the same deck throughout a tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament, except for the situations specified in the Sideboard Ruling for BFE Best of 3 tournaments.
Sleeving

Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
Sleeves used for all cards must be of the same design unless otherwise stated.
Exception:

  • VGE: Imaginary Gift markers & G-deck (if any)
  • BFE: Flag

VGE: Players MUST use different card sleeves from their deck for their Imaginary Gift markers. Players may use different card sleeves from their deck for their G Units (if any). Sleeves used for the other cards must be of the same design.

BFE: Players may use different card sleeves from their deck for their Flag.
Players MUST use different card sleeves from their Main deck for their Lost World deck (if any).

Sleeves used for the other cards, including main deck, side-board and Buddy Monster must be of the same design.

Deck Registration It is mandatory to register the deck (submit the deck list) upon tournament registration.
Discrepancies between the deck list and actual deck used in the tournament may result in a penalty.
Entry Fee Free
If the Regional Championship is held inside another convention, the entry fee to the convention may be applicable.
Time-up Policy Players have 10 minutes to finish the 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner:

Cardfight!! Vanguard: The player with less damage wins the game. If the damage is the same, the game ends in a double loss.
Future Card Buddyfight: The player with more life wins the game. If the life is the same, the game ends in a double loss.
Weiss Schwarz: The player with lower level wins the game. If the level is the same, the player with less clock wins the game. If the clock is the same, the game ends in a double loss.

In the top-cut, after 3 extra turns, the game will be decided by sudden death.
(Refer to Bushiroad TCG Advanced Floor Rules for more details)
For best of 3 formats, if the score is 1-1 after the extra turns procedure, both players will receive a loss.

Deck Check To avoid disputes and cases of cheating, we would require all participants to fill in Deck Registration Forms, which include their deck list and a media release agreement before registering for the tournaments.

Team League

  • All 3 players must be playing a different clan, flag of main deck or title from their team mates.
    i.e.
    Pale moon, Kagero, Granblue (O)

Hero World, Dungeon World, Katana World (O)
Hero World, Katana World, Hero World (X)

Attack on Titan, BanG Dream, BanG Dream (X)
  • All 3 players of a team will play 1v1 matches against the other 3 players of the opposing team simultaneously.
  • The team with more match wins across its players wins. If both teams have the same number of match wins due to time-up, both teams lose.
  • No communication is allowed between players to ensure a fair environment for everyone.

Sideboard Ruling (For Future Card Buddyfight Best of 3 rounds)

  • Fighters must use the same Buddy and Flag throughout the whole tournament. Fighters cannot change the Buddy or Flag between games.
  • Fighters can have 0-10 cards for their sideboard.
  • The 4 per deck rule applies to the main deck and sideboard as a whole. (i.e. You may only have up to 4 of a certain card between your deck and sideboard. Like normal games, your Buddy does not count towards the 4 per deck.)
  • Between games 1-2 and 2-3 of each round, fighters may use cards from their sideboard to change their deck.
  • After sideboarding, the deck needs to be in a legal state and the sideboard can be no more than 10 cards.
  • Fighters must return deck to pre-sideboard state before each new round.
