Format Individual
Eligibility All fighters may participate in the Shop Challenges / Regional Championship.
There will be a region lock on the eligibility of receiving invites to World Finals.
The event is grouped into 3 regions:

  • North America / Latin America
  • Europe
  • Asia-Oceania
Language Only English edition cards may be used.
Cards

Certain Weiß Schwarz Titles may not be used at specific BCS2023 locations
(Please check the product page to see if the title is allowed to be used for your region).
Cards from new expansions are eligible for play only after 2 weeks of their official release dates for BCS2023 Regional Championships & Shop Challenges. These include cards from the Monthly Shop Tournament, Title Cup, Shop Challenge etc.

Cards from expansions that are available after Sneak Preview / Pre-sale events are not allowed for use in the tournaments until the expansions are officially released.

*Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard Format: Ride decks will be used for this format. It is mandatory to indicate your ride deck on your Deck Log.
Discrepancies between the deck list and actual deck used in the tournament may result in a penalty.
Entry Fee

Free
If the Regional Championship is held inside another convention, the entry fee to the convention may be applicable.
Sleeving

Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.

Oversleeves with a Matte finishing on one side and Gloss finishing on the other side are allowed. However, the Matte finishing has to be uniform throughout, on either the front or back of the cards.

Oversleeves with patterns or borders are not allowed.
For Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard, Cardfight!! Vanguard V Premium, Cardfight!! Vanguard Premium: You are not allowed to use Standard sized sleeves for your main deck.
Sleeves used for all cards must be of the same design unless otherwise stated.

Time-up Policy

Players have 10 minutes to finish the 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner:

  • Cardfight!! Vanguard: The player with less damage wins the game. If the damage is the same, the game ends in a double loss.
  • Weiß Schwarz: The player with the lower level wins the game. If the level is the same, the player with less clock wins the game. If the clock is the same, the game ends in a double loss.

In top-cut, players will have 10 minutes to finish 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner:

Players with less damage/lower clock/less clock wins the game. If the damage/clock is the same, both players play until the next instance of damage is taken/healed. The player with less damage/lower level/ less clock wins the game.

There will be no time-limit for Final.

Are Japanese edition cards allowed in the main tournaments?

No, only English edition cards may be used in the main tournaments. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.

Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?

Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards in the tournament.

Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for Imaginary Gift markers and G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard)?

Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard:
You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Ride Deck.

Cardfight!! Vanguard V Premium & Premium:
You may choose to sleeve your Imaginary Gift Markers. However, if you do, you MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Imaginary Gift markers.

Am I allowed to use my own card supplies (sleeves, deck cases, playmats) in Regional Championship tournaments?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own card supplies as long as they are licensed products. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed card supplies.

Are there any entry fees?

There are no entry fees to Bushiroad Championship Series 2023 World Finals.

Will I need to apply for VISA?

Please do note that application for the participant or spectator’s VISA, if required, falls on the player’s responsibility..

Featuring over 150 players from over 20 Regional Championships held over the course of BCS2023, the top players for Bushiroad Trading Card Games, “Cardfight!! Vanguard” and “Weiß Schwarz” will face off in Tokyo to see who will be crowned World Champion!

Job Description:

Responsible for day-to-day order management tasks and provide full spectrum of customer service and support to the distributors of Bushiroad’s English products

  • Issuance of product sales solicitation sheet to relevant parties for new releases
  • Initiate and follow up new items/customers’ profiles creation in ERP system
  • Keep track of pre-order deadlines and send regular reminders to distributors
  • Acceptance of distributors’ orders and escalate if any abnormality found
  • Work closely with logistics team to plan and execute order fulfilment process
  • Sales order setup and maintain distributors’ orders in ERP system to ensure accuracy
  • Track payment and issue statement of accounts bi-monthly and ensure compliance with payment contractual terms
  • Collate and check monthly invoices against sales orders

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree qualification in any field of study

In 2022, the TCG industry experienced exponential growth thanks to the increased popularity of Japanese animation (commonly referred to as anime) in the global market and a growing demand for collectibles. In line with the burgeoning market, Bushiroad TCGs also expanded globally thanks to the gaining popularity of existing brands as well as release of new TCG titles.

Bushiroad announces product release updates for 2023 and Q1 2024

Singapore (July 7, 2023) – Bushiroad International announces release dates for English Edition Trading Card Game (TCG) titles Cardfight!! Vanguard, Weiß Schwarz and Shadowverse: Evolve through the Bushiroad English Conference Summer 2023.

The third season of “CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD will+Dress” will begin airing on July 8, 2023.

With the odds stacked against protagonist Yu-yu and his friends, they must fight to protect their vision of cardfights with individuality. The opening theme “The last resort” is sung by GYROAXIA, and the ending theme “BLUE BUD” is sung by Hina Aoki.

New episodes air on Fridays at 7am UTC+8 (4pm PDT, 7pm EDT, 1am CEST) on the official Cardfight!! Vanguard YouTube channel.

A special BanG Dream! collaboration will be included in the upcoming release Booster Pack 11: Clash of the Heroes.

A total of 35 types of cards will be included in this collaboration, and are trigger units that feature illustrations of BanG Dream! characters. There are also higher rarity versions which include a hot-stamped signature of the character’s voice actress. These cards can be used in any deck.

The updated release schedule for all products that have been announced so far is as follows.

Bushiroad’s flagship card game Cardfight!! Vanguard recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The TV anime series has aired since January 2011, and over 2 billion cards have been sold through multimedia expansion worldwide. Cardfight!! Vanguard has since been adapted into comics, stage performances, and various events and collaborations with external partners.

Release dates for previously announced titles SPY x FAMILY and Chainsaw Man are confirmed.

SPY x FAMILY will be released on January 26, 2024.

A trial deck and booster pack will be available for this release. Trial deck products contain prebuilt decks that can be used for play out of the box, while booster pack products contain cards that can be used to upgrade the trial decks, or to build entirely new decks.

Undercover spy “Twilight” must navigate his mission to prevent all-out war between rival nations by maintaining the façade of a happy family.

Chainsaw Man will be released on February 16, 2024.

A trial deck and booster pack will be available for this release.

Denji is recruited into a government agency that fights against devils in Japan after a devil named Pochita fuses their souls together to become the eponymous Chainsaw Man – a devil human hybrid with chainsaws for arms.

A new original artwork for the English Edition Original title GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- has been revealed.

GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- is the latest in a series of fighting video games developed by Arc System Works. It received praise for its visuals, revamped gameplay, and online play, and is the best-selling title of the franchise with over a million copies sold as of August 2022.

English Edition Original titles are developed for English Edition of Weiß Schwarz, and feature unique titles such as RWBY and Adventure Time among other fan-favourite Japanese animation titles like The Seven Deadly Sins and Mob Psycho 100.

The updated release schedule is as follows.

Weiß Schwarz allows players to relive their favorite animations and games through an exciting, fast-paced card game. Popular titles such as Date A Live, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- have graced the game, along with many others.
 
Shadowverse: Evolve

The English edition of Shadowverse: Evolve launched worldwide on June 30, 2023 with the release of six starter decks featuring each of the playable classes, as well as the first booster set, “Advent of Genesis.”

To encourage players to support their local stores and to give players an avenue to practice for larger-scale events, official stores will be running casual tournaments regularly for players to join. Participants will receive a random card from the Promo Series 1 set, only available from July through September, for playing in these tournaments.

Apart from shop tournaments, shops can also organize another type of tournament under the Shadowverse: Evolve Championship program. These are one-off events that official distributors and stores can apply for, with exclusive prizes to be won.

The World Invitational season is also slated to begin in August starting with the Shop Qualifiers. Top players from each Shop Qualifier will be invited to play in a Regional Qualifier, which will then lead into the World Finals where the strongest players from around the world will compete for the title of World Champion.

Those who are looking to learn Shadowverse: Evolve can also attend the Shadowverse: Evolve demo caravan. Bushiroad staff members will be traveling to stores around the world to host demo sessions. More information on the dates and times of these sessions can be found on the official website.

The third booster set release for Shadowverse: Evolve, Flame of Lævateinn, has also been announced. This set features characters inspired by fairy tales, as well as the booster set’s namesake, Lævateinn Dragon.

In addition, the third booster set will contain special alternate-art collaboration cards featuring the popular NIJISANJI EN talent Millie Parfait.

The first crossover set, “Umamusume: Pretty Derby,” was also announced. The set will contain over 180 different cards featuring artwork and memorable scenes from the popular mobile game.

Due to the impact of this release on the competitive scene, two cards will be preemptively restricted in order to maintain a fair gameplay environment for all Shadowverse: Evolve players.

Shadowverse: Evolve is a competitive trading card game where players battle using one of six different classes, summoning followers and casting spells to defeat their opponents. The gameplay closely follows the digital collectible card game, with the inclusion of new mechanics that allow for new ways to play.

Events
The Bushiroad Championship Series 2023 is about to begin.

This is the most competitive event of the year, with invitations extended to top players to participate in the prestigious World Finals event at the start of the next year.

The event was held in Los Angeles, California earlier this year, but the Bushiroad Championship Series 2023 World Finals will be returning to Tokyo, Japan.

More information on locations for regional tournaments and the World Finals will be announced shortly.
