The explosive conclusion to the Bushiroad Championship Series 2017!

Featuring over 100 players from 47 Regional Championships held over the course of the year, the top players for our games will face off against one another in Tokyo to see who will be crowned champion! The games featured will be Cardfight!! Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight, Weiss Schwarz and Luck & Logic. This will be a titanic clash where only the very best will ascend to the throne!

The venue will be open to the public to spectate, and there will be exclusive merchandise sales as well. But if you’re not there to catch it all happening with your very eyes, fear not, for you can still experience the same heart-pounding action from the comfort of your own home! The event will be live-streamed across the internet throughout the day. Aside from our staff, our live-stream will feature a guest commentator from the community, Kris from DifferentFight!

Eligibility

The event is grouped into 3 regions:

  • North/Latin America
  • Europe
  • Asia-Oceania

Anyone may participate in any Regional Championships held in the same region as where the participant is residing (Asia-Oceania AO, Europe EU or North/Latin America NA/LA).

Language Only English edition cards may be used.
Cards Cards from new expansions are legal to use from the expansion’s official release date.
Cards from expansions which are available after Sneak Preview / Pre-sale events are not allowed for use in the tournaments until the expansions are officially released.
Deck A player must use the same deck throughout a tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament, except for the situations specified in the Sideboard Ruling for BFE & DB Best of 3 tournaments.
Sleeving Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
Sleeves used for all cards must be of the same design unless otherwise stated.
Exception:

  • VGE: G deck
  • BFE: Flag
  • DB: Banner

VGE: Players may use different card sleeves from their deck for their G Units. Sleeves used for the other cards must be of the same design.

BFE: Players may use different card sleeves from their deck for their Flag.
Sleeves used for the other cards, including main deck, side-board and Buddy Monster must be of the same design.

DB: Players may use different card sleeves from their deck for their Banners.
Sleeves used for the other cards, including main deck and side-board must be of the same design.

Deck Registration It is mandatory to register the deck (submit the deck list) upon tournament registration.
Discrepancies between the deck list and actual deck used in the tournament may result in a penalty.
Entry Fee Free
If the Regional Championship is held inside another convention, the entry fee to the convention may be applicable.
Time-up Policy Players have 10 minutes to finish the 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes, the game is decided by sudden death.
For best of 3 formats, if it is 1-1 after the extra turns procedure, both players lose.
Deck Check To avoid disputes and cases of cheating, we would require all participants to fill in Deck Registration Forms, which include their deck list and a media release agreement before registering for the tournaments.

Team League
  • The team with more match wins across its players wins. If both teams have the same number of match wins, both teams lose.
  • Players are allowed to communicate with their teammates during a match as long as they do not leave their seats. However, players are not allowed to touch their teammates’ cards in any zone.

Sideboard Ruling (For Future Card Buddyfight Best of 3 rounds)
  • Fighters must use the same Buddy and Flag throughout the whole tournament. Fighters cannot change the Buddy or Flag between games.
  • Fighters can have 0-10 cards for their sideboard.
  • The 4 per deck rule applies to the main deck and sideboard as a whole. (i.e. You may only have up to 4 of a certain card between your deck and sideboard. Like normal games, your Buddy does not count towards the 4 per deck.)
  • Between games 1-2 and 2-3 of each round, fighters may use cards from their sideboard to change their deck.
  • After sideboarding, the deck needs to be in a legal state and the sideboard can be no more than 10 cards.
  • Fighters must return deck to pre-sideboard state before each new round.

FAQ

Are Japanese edition cards allowed in the main tournaments?

No, only English edition cards may be used in the main tournaments. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.

Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?

Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards in the tournament, except for what has been stated in sideboard ruling for Future Card Buddyfight and Dragoborne -Rise to Supremacy-.

Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard) / Buddy Monster and/or Flag (Future Card Buddyfight) / Banners (Dragoborne)?

Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: You may use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.
Future Card Buddyfight: You should use the same card sleeves for the whole deck, including main and sideboard cards, as well as the Buddy Monster. However, you are allowed to use a different sleeve for Flag card.

Am I allowed to use my own playmat or sleeves in Shop Challenges & Regional Championships tournaments?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own playmats or sleeves as long as the they are licensed products. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed card supplies.

Are there any entry fees?

Entry fees may be charged at shop’s discretion for Shop Challenges. There are no entry fees to any tournament in the Bushiroad Spring Fest 2018 Regional Championships. However, players may have to pay to enter the venue if a Regional Championship is held within another event which requires an entry fee.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Shop Challenge or Regional Championship is held but I am currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate that Shop Challenge or Regional Championship?

Yes, you are allowed to participate in the Shop Challenges/Regional Championship in the same region as you are currently residing (North/Latin America, Europe and Asia-Oceania), regardless of your nationality.

Will the winners of Bushiroad Spring Fest 2018 Regional Championships receive an invitation to World Finals in Japan?

Invitations will only be given to winners of Bushiroad Championship Series (BCS) 2018 Regional Championships, which will be held in the latter half of the year. Bushiroad Spring Fest 2018 regional champions will not be invited.

We regret to announce that the Future Card Buddyfight 2nd place of Bushiroad Spring Fest 2018 Richmond Regional Championship has been disqualified without prize for usage of an illegal deck.

The original 3rd and 4th place teams have now been lifted to 2nd place and 3rd place respectively of Bushiroad Spring Fest 2018 Richmond Regional Championship. We would like to ask the respective teams to contact us at usa_help1@bushiroad.com by 31st May to collect your certificate and prizes.

Introduction

The ‘Bushiroad Spring Fest’ series title makes a grand return in 2018, as one of the two major Bushiroad-sanctioned tournament series held every year. Each year, thousands of players gather across more than 15 locations around the world to attend the event for the tournaments, side events and exclusive guest appearances. Starting this year, we are also featuring our latest title, Dragoborne -Rise to Supremacy-, alongside our mainstay titles.
BSF2018 will be held across three regions (Asia-Oceania AO, Europe EU, and North/Latin America NA/LA), with 2 levels of tournaments: Shop Challenges and Regional Championship.

And as requested by popular demand, we’re bringing back the Team League Format!

The Team League format will be brought back for Cardfight!! Vanguard, as well as introduced for Weiss Schwarz and Future Card Buddyfight. This is intended to create a more welcoming and fun-driven environment for our casual players who wish to enjoy the game together with friends.
Bushiroad Spring Fest encompasses the four main tournaments of Bushiroad’s English Edition trading card games:
