Are Japanese edition cards allowed in Shop Challenge tournaments?

No, only English edition cards may be used. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.

Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?

Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards in the tournament.

Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for Imaginary Gift markers and G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard)?

Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard:
You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Ride Deck.

You may use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.

Cardfight!! Vanguard V Premium & Premium:
You may choose to sleeve your Imaginary Gift Markers. However, if you do, you MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Imaginary Gift markers.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Premium:
You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.

Are there any entry fees?

Entry fees may be charged at each shop’s discretion for Shop Challenges. There are no entry fees to any tournament in the Bushiroad Championship Series 2022 Regional Championships. However, players may have to pay to enter the venue if a Regional Championship is held within another event which requires an entry fee.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Regional Championship is held but I am currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate in that Shop Challenge or Regional Championship?

Yes, you are allowed to participate in the Shop Challenges/Regional Championship in the same region as you are currently residing (North/Latin America, Europe and Asia-Oceania), regardless of your nationality.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Shop Challenge or Regional Championship is held and I am NOT currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate in that Shop Challenge or Regional Championship?

Yes, you are allowed to participate. Please note that winners receiving both the sponsored and non-sponsored invites must be players currently residing in the respective regions.
If the winner is not currently residing in the respective region, the invite will be passed down.
However, this is limited between players of 1st to 4th place. The winner will still be able to receive the other prizes (i.e. Champion PR, Certificate or Trophy).

Format	Individual
Eligibility	All fighters may participate in the Shop Challenges / Regional Championship. There will be a region lock on the eligibility of receiving invites to World Finals. The event is grouped into 3 regions: North America / Latin America Europe Asia-Oceania
Language	Only English edition cards may be used.
Cards	Certain Weiß Schwarz Titles may not be used at specific BCS2022 locations. (more information on specific titles will be announced soon) Cards from new expansions can only be used 2 weeks after the official release dates for BCS2022 Regional Championships & Shop Challenges. Hololive Production Premium Booster will only be legal for use in BCS2022 tournaments 2 weeks after its release date (September 30th). Cards from expansions which are available after Sneak Preview / Pre-sale events are not allowed for use in the tournaments until 2 weeks after the expansions are officially released.*
Deck	A player must use the same deck throughout a tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament.
Entry Fee	Shops are allowed to charge a token entry fee. A player should be awarded (e.g. booster packs, tournament promos, besides the Door Gifts) if an entry fee is charged.
Sleeving	Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Oversleeves with a Matte finishing on one side and Gloss finishing on the other side are allowed. However, the Matte finishing has to be uniform throughout, on either the front or back of the cards. Oversleeves with patterns or borders are not allowed. For VGE-S, VGE-V, VGE-P: You are not allowed to use Standard sized sleeves for your main deck Sleeves used for all cards must be of the same design unless otherwise stated. Exception: VGE-S: Ride Deck VGE-V & VGE-P: Imaginary Gift markers & G-deck (if any) VGE-S: You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Ride Deck. VGE-V & VGE-P: You may choose to sleeve your Imaginary Gift Markers. However, if you do, you MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Imaginary Gift markers. VGE-P: You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.
Time-Out Policy	Players have 10 minutes to finish the 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner: ・Cardfight!! Vanguard: The player with less damage wins the game. If the damage is the same, the game ends in a double loss. ・Weiss Schwarz: The player with the lower level wins the game. If the level is the same, the player with less clock wins the game. If the clock is the same, the game ends in a double loss. In top-cut, players will have 10 minutes to finish 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner: Players with less damage/lower clock/less clock wins the game. If the damage/clock is the same, both players play until the next instance of damage is taken/healed. The player with less damage/lower level/ less clock wins the game.

*Compensation will be provided for any judge/judging appointments at official tournaments. Please check with the tournament organizer for details.

For official Bushiroad Judges who judge at Regional-level events, they will receive a hot-stamped PR card specific to their game, unique to each tournament circuit. All Judge PR cards are only legal for tournament use when their non-hot-stamped equivalent are available to the public, i.e. after the product goes on sale.

Judges who were certified and proceed to judge in a subsequent regional will be able to receive the Judge PR card from the current circuit.

Cheating incident during BRO2021

[Announcement] Cheating incident during BRO2021

Thank you for your continued support.
It has been brought to our attention that a player was suspected of cheating during the BRO2021 Weiß Schwarz swiss rounds. We have confirmed this report after conducting an internal investigation.
The player in question managed to attain high placements in the tournaments thereafter. As such, we will be imposing the following penalties on the player in question.

Banned from taking part in all official Bushiroad-sanctioned tournaments with immediate effect, until 28 August 2023. This ban applies to all of Bushiroad’s games and events.
Annulment of tournament ranking & placement, & recall of prizes

Bushiroad takes all cases of cheating and misconduct during tournaments seriously. We will not hesitate to take action to ensure the integrity of our tournaments, and to ensure a fair and enjoyable tournament for all our players.

STATEMENT REGARDING BSF2022

Dear players,

This is Shunichi Taira, the Chairman & CEO of Bushiroad International.

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your fervent support for Bushiroad’s trading card games and events.

Recently, we announced the dates and the format splits for day 1 and day 2 for the upcoming Bushiroad Spring Fest 2022. We understand that this has caused some consternation in the community, and we would like to address this issue today.

As these would be the first events that would be held in-person since the inception of 3 Cardfight!! Vanguard formats, it was a unique constraint that we had anticipated during the planning stage of the event. We had decided on the original arrangement based on the limited data that we had on hand, which resulted in the current, less-than-ideal situation.

After taking into account community feedback, we have decided to adopt one of two configurations for the upcoming BSF2022 events for locations that will hold both Cardfight!! Vanguard & Weiß Schwarz events.

For locations that are not holding Weiß Schwarz events, there will be no change to the schedule. Full details on which locations are using which configuration can be found on the event webpage (bit.ly/bsf2022locations).

We understand that this may not be the ideal configuration for all our players, but we hope that you will be able to enjoy BSF2022 with the games and formats that you enjoy the most.

You may notice that in both configurations, Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard and Weiß Schwarz are held on different days. We see the Standard format and Weiß Schwarz as an entry point for new players to Bushiroad trading card games, and would like to give new players the opportunity to play in both of our flagship games as much as possible. That being said, we do appreciate our loyal and dedicated players for sticking with us throughout the years, and we hope you can enjoy the events regardless of which format you choose to participate in.

We have also noted that there are players asking if there will be another online event in the future following the conclusion of BRO2021. Even with the return of in-person events, the strength of online events is that it allows players to participate in our events even if they are unable to travel to a BSF location. Therefore, we would like to assure everyone that we are definitely open to holding online events again in the future.

We appreciate the candour of our community in providing feedback to us, and we hope these changes will better cater to the needs of our players worldwide. We look forward to seeing you in a BSF2022 event soon!

[Announcement] Regarding Retail Price of Upcoming Products

Thank you for your fervent support for Bushiroad’s games and products.

With the global supply chain being adversely affected by the pandemic for the last 2 years, we have been experiencing increasing costs in procuring raw materials, production, and international shipping. In order to avoid major disruptions during these difficult times, we have so far been absorbing the rising costs while maintaining the existing pricing offered to our partners. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where it is no longer sustainable for us to do so, especially in the long run.

As such, starting with products releasing from July 2022 onwards (excluding Weiß Schwarz Booster Pack products), the MSRP of all Bushiroad English Edition trading card game products will be increased by a certain amount. As the price of each product differs from region to region, we strongly recommend consulting your local game stores for more detailed information on how much this price increase will be.

We seek your kind understanding on this matter as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times. We will continue to strive to produce quality products for our global player base, and we thank you for your continuing support for our games and products.

Overall Tournament Structure

There will only be 1 level of tournament: Regional Championship.
The Regional Championship will run a team tournament format (groups of 3) for all games, except some locations with a smaller player base may hold individual tournaments instead.
1. The prizes will be the same for team and individual tournaments, including the top prizes. (e.g. Top 4 playmat will be given to Top 4 players in individual tournaments, even when Top 8 cut is made.)
