Frequently Asked Questions

Are Japanese edition cards allowed in the main tournaments?

No, only English edition cards may be used in the main tournaments. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.

Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?

Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards in the tournament.

Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for Imaginary Gift markers and G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard)?

Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard:
You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Ride Deck.

Cardfight!! Vanguard V Premium & Premium:
You may choose to sleeve your Imaginary Gift Markers. However, if you do, you MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your Imaginary Gift markers.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Premium:
You MUST use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.

Am I allowed to use my own card supplies (sleeves, deck cases, playmats) in Regional Championship tournaments?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own card supplies as long as they are licensed products. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed card supplies.

Can I play other card games at a Regional Championship?

No. Players are only allowed to play Bushiroad card games at the Regional Championship tournaments, unless another sanctioned card game tournament is taking place at the same venue.

Are there any entry fees?

Entry fees may be charged at each shop’s discretion for Shop Challenges. There are no entry fees to any tournament in the Bushiroad Championship Series 2023 Regional Championships. However, players may have to pay to enter the venue if a Regional Championship is held within another event which requires an entry fee.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Regional Championship is held but I am currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate in that Shop Challenge or Regional Championship?

Yes, you are allowed to participate in the Shop Challenges/Regional Championship in the same region as you are currently residing (North/Latin America, Europe and Asia-Oceania), regardless of your nationality.

If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Shop Challenge or Regional Championship is held and I am NOT currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate in that Shop Challenge or Regional Championship?

Yes, you are allowed to participate.

Steps to apply for tournaments


Status

There will be different status label after applying for an event.
Refer to the below table for the different status definition.

On the day of event

Matching and score reporting has been simplified!

Match pairing and table number will be sent to Bushi Navi App.
Please proceed to the designated table to find your opponent!

The winner of the match will report the result of the match first.
After which a notification will be sent to the opponent to confirm and approve the result.

Q&A

  • I checked the terms of use from “Click here for new registration”, entered my email address on the email address authentication screen, and pressed “Issue a verification code”, but I did not receive an email.
  • Please make sure it is not in your spam folder. Also, please check on your device whether you have allowed to receive emails from the “@en.bushi-navi.com” domain.

  • I did not receive the SMS verification code.
  • The following are possible reasons for not receiving the verification code.

    ・The phone number you entered is incorrect.
    ・SMS is delayed due to phone reception.
    ・Receive SMS is restricted due to spam settings, etc.
    ・SMS storage capacity is full
    ・Cannot be used due to line contract details
    ・Mobile communication is disabled

  • I don’t have a mobile phone, so I can’t verify SMS. What should I do?
  • You can contact our Bushi Navi Support [bushinavi_global_sp@bushiroad.com]. Do note that this may take a few day to process and personal information may need to be provided to confirm your identity.

  • Is there any information that will be disclosed to others when I enter my profile?
  • Only handle name will be displayed in the matchups, match history, and standings.

  • I am unable to change my handle name
  • If you are applying for an event, you will be unable to update your profile.

  • Can I search for multiple events at once?
  • No, it is not possible.

  • The “Distance to Venue” search criteria is not working!
  • Please check if location service are enable on your mobile device. Please note that this may not work depending on the device

  • What are the check boxes beside the event?
  • You can choose to apply for multiple events at once by checking them.

  • After applying, how do I know if I was selected for the event?
  • Your status will be reflected as “Selected” under the “My Event” page.
    In the case of lottery draw, it will be “Submitted” until the day of the draw.

  • Location check-in is not displayed on the My Event Details screen.
  • Location check-in is not enabled by the event organiser(official store).

  • Location check-in is not working.
  • Please check if location information is allowed in your smartphone settings and try again.
    If you are using Android devices

    　Set “Location” and “Google Location Accuracy” to ON in the settings screen.

    Set “Location” to ON and “Mode” to “High Accuracy”.

  • If I forgot to bring my device to the event, can I still participate in the event I applied for?
  • Bushi Navi allows manual check-in and other functions. However it is up to store discretion to allow users without devices to participate.
    Please kindly make sure you have access to Bushi Navi and your account on the day of event.

  • My opponent reported the wrong result. What do I do?
  • Please notify the event organiser to rectify the issue.

  • What happens if my opponent does not approve the results?
  • The event organiser can check and directly approve the result if there are no issues.

  • How do I check if I have retired from the event?
  • You can check via the status label in “My Event Details” screen.

  • Unable to update Bushi Navi app.
  • Please search for [Bushi Navi] and update directly from the store.
    If you are still unable to update, please contact Bushi Navi Support [bushinavi_global_sp@bushiroad.com].

  • What is the size of Bushi Navi app?
  • Around 20MB.

  • The app does not work for me!
  • Please check that the latest version is installed.
    If the latest version is installed, please exit the app fully and restart.
    If you still experience the same problem after trying the above steps, please contact us at [bushinavi_global_sp@bushiroad.com]

  • Can I cancel my account?
  • Your account can be deleted under “Profile”.

Format Individual
Eligibility All fighters may participate in the Shop Challenges / Regional Championship.
There will be a region lock on the eligibility of receiving invites to World Finals.
The event is grouped into 3 regions:

  • North America / Latin America
  • Europe
  • Asia-Oceania
Language Only English edition cards may be used.
Cards

Certain Weiß Schwarz Titles may not be used at specific BCS2023 locations
(Please check the product page to see if the title is allowed to be used for your region).
Cards from new expansions are eligible for play only after 2 weeks of their official release dates for BCS2023 Regional Championships & Shop Challenges. These include cards from the Monthly Shop Tournament, Title Cup, Shop Challenge etc.

Cards from expansions that are available after Sneak Preview / Pre-sale events are not allowed for use in the tournaments until the expansions are officially released.
Deck A player must use the same deck throughout a tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament.
Deck Registration is mandatory for all team members in order to check in as a Team.

*Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard Format: Ride decks will be used for this format. It is mandatory to indicate your ride deck on your Deck Log.
Discrepancies between the deck list and actual deck used in the tournament may result in a penalty.
Entry Fee

Free
If the Regional Championship is held inside another convention, the entry fee to the convention may be applicable.
Sleeving

Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.

Oversleeves with a Matte finishing on one side and Gloss finishing on the other side are allowed. However, the Matte finishing has to be uniform throughout, on either the front or back of the cards.

Oversleeves with patterns or borders are not allowed.
For Cardfight!! Vanguard Standard, Cardfight!! Vanguard V Premium, Cardfight!! Vanguard Premium: You are not allowed to use Standard sized sleeves for your main deck.
Sleeves used for all cards must be of the same design unless otherwise stated.

Time-up Policy

Players have 10 minutes to finish the 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner:

  • Cardfight!! Vanguard: The player with less damage wins the game. If the damage is the same, the game ends in a double loss.
  • Weiß Schwarz: The player with the lower level wins the game. If the level is the same, the player with less clock wins the game. If the clock is the same, the game ends in a double loss.

In top-cut, players will have 10 minutes to finish 3 extra turns. After 10 minutes or end of the third turn, whichever comes first, the winner is decided in the following manner:

Players with less damage/lower clock/less clock wins the game. If the damage/clock is the same, both players play until the next instance of damage is taken/healed. The player with less damage/lower level/ less clock wins the game.

Event Details

  • Participants can only sign up for one event each day. If multiple entries are found, they will be removed.
  • Tournament Registration will be done within the Bushiroad EXPO hall and will close at 11am sharp. Latecomers will not be entertained.
  • We highly suggest that participants have breakfast before coming to the event as no meal breaks are planned.
  • Bottled drinks and packet snacks are allowed for this event. However, please maintain proper hygiene and do not litter at the event hall.

Ticket Redemption & Entry Details

  • Applicants with “Selected” status on BushiNavi must report to Suntec Convention Centre Room 332 on the 3rd floor between 8:30 to 9:15 am with their constructed decks to collect their passes. Applicants with “Waiting List” status on BushiNavi may choose to queue up there, and remaining passes will be distributed on a first come first serve basis starting from 9:15 am.
  • Participants who have received the wristband will be escorted to the event fast lane, where they will be able to enter the venue between 9:30am to 10:00am through the Hall 405 doors. Subsequent entries past 10am must be through the main Hall 403/404 doors.
  • Upon entering, participants will be escorted to the tournament area and held there until the conclusion of Round 2.
  • Any participant who is discovered to be taking part without intending to play in the tournament will have their wristband removed and escorted out of the event venue.
  • The registration for BCS 2023 will be opening on 27th October 2023, 4pm SGT

The Bushiroad Championship series is a Bushiroad-sanctioned tournament series held every year. Each year, thousands of players gather across more than 20 locations around the world to participate in the event for exciting tournaments and attractive prizes. BCS2023 will be held across three regions (Asia-Oceania AO, Europe EU, and North/Latin America NA/LA), with 3 levels of tournaments beginning at the shop level, followed by regional championships, and ending with the World Finals.

Overall Tournament Structure

  1. There will be 3 levels of tournaments: Shop Challenge, Regional Championship, and World Finals (Invite only).
    • Champions from the Regional Championships will receive a sponsored invitation to World Finals, to be held in February 2024. Those who came in 2nd or 3rd place will receive a non-sponsored invite to World Finals.
    • Non-sponsored invites are allowed to be passed down till the 4th place
    • Sponsored invites are allowed to be passed down all the way to 4th place, only if the 2nd and 3rd place are unable to attend.
  2. Champions of World Finals 2023 will receive a sponsored invitation to the next annual World Finals as returning champions to defend their title.
    • Returning champions can not pass down their invitation.
    • Previous Champions from BCS2022 World Finals will also be participating in BCS2023 World Finals
  3. The Shop Challenge will be run in an individual format for all games.
    • Winners of Shop Challenges will receive “BYE,” cards to be used to obtain bye round(s) when attending the Regional Championships.
  4. For any game which has 385 or more players seated at the start of Round 1, a second tournament will be opened up with the players split evenly between the two using a random method.
    • There will be an additional set of prizes for the Top 8/4/3/Champion respectively.
  5. The region lock will be lifted for participation, but there will still be a region lock on receiving invitations for World Finals.
    • Winners receiving both the sponsored and non-sponsored invites must be players currently residing in the respective regions.
    • If the winner is not currently residing in the respective region, the invite will be passed down. However, this is limited between players of 1st to 4th place. The winner will still be able to receive the other prizes (i.e. Champion Participation Card, Certificate, or Trophy).
