Update
[Jun 2] Updated Online Pre-registration Information for Australia/Sydney Regional Championship
[May 15] Updated Guest Appearance Information for Richmond, Canada Regional Championship
[May 9] Updated Venue and Schedule for Malaysia Regional Championship
Bushiroad has decided to alter the criteria for players advancing to the second day for next year’s two-day Bushiroad Championship Series 2017 Cardfight!! Vanguard events.
Previously, the top 32/64/128 players would have advanced to the second day, depending on the number of participants in the event.
However, after 7 rounds of swiss, all players that have a record of 5-2 or better will now advance to the second day, regardless of their final standing or tie breakers.
By eliminating tie breakers, more players will be able to advance to the second day for most of the Regional Championship locations, and we believe this will provide a better event experience to all players participating in the Bushiroad Championship Series 2017.
What is “Bushiroad Championship Series 2017”?

Shop Challenges
Is Shop Challenge a pre-requisite for participating in a Regional Championship?
No, you are not required to participate and win in a Shop Challenge in order to participate in a Regional Championship. Nonetheless, we encourage all the players to join the Shop Challenges organised by your local shop, and if you are crowned the champion, you will enjoy free BYEs at a Regional Championship!
Am I allowed to participate in multiple Shop Challenges?
Yes, you may feel free to participate in multiple Shop Challenges as long as you fulfill the eligibility.
Am I allowed to use cards obtained from Sneak Preview draft tournaments at Shop Challenges?
If these cards are from releases that have not been officially released, you are not allowed to use these cards even though they are available from Sneak Preview tournaments, unless they are reprint/reissue ones which are already legal to use in the tournament.
Do I need to prepare a deck list before joining a Shop Challenge?
A deck list is not enforced for Shop Challenge tournaments. However, Shop Challenge organiser may require Top 4 or Top 8 players to register their decks by completing the Deck Registration Forms and perform deck checks.
Are Japanese edition cards allowed in Shop Challenge tournaments?
No, only English edition cards may be used in the main tournaments. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.
Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a Shop Challenge tournament?

Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard) / Buddy Monster and/or Flag (Future Card Buddyfight)?
Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: You may use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.
Future Card Buddyfight: You should use the same card sleeves for the whole deck, including main and sideboard cards, as well as the Buddy Monster. However, you are allowed to use a different sleeve for Flag card.
Am I allowed to use my own playmat in Shop Challenge tournaments?
Yes, you are allowed to use your own playmats as long as the playmat is a licensed product. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed playmat.
BYE Cards
I have won one Shop Challenge and obtained a certificate and a BYE Card, am I able to receive more if I win at another Shop Challenge?
Players can hold more than 1 BYE Card by participating and winning at multiple Shop Challenges. However, only 1 card can be used at one Regional Championship for one game.
If I pass my BYE card to my friend, will he be able to claim BYEs at a Regional Championship?

No, only English edition cards may be used in the main tournaments. No mixing of multiple languages in the deck is allowed too.
Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?
Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards in the tournament, except for what has been stated in sideboard ruling for Future Card Buddyfight.
Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves for G units (Cardfight!! Vanguard) / Buddy Monster and/or Flag (Future Card Buddyfight) / Main Deck and Gate Deck (Luck & Logic)?
Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only licensed sleeves are allowed.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: You may use different card sleeves from your main deck for your G units.
Future Card Buddyfight: You should use the same card sleeves for the whole deck, including main and sideboard cards, as well as the Buddy Monster. However, you are allowed to use a different sleeve for Flag card.

Am I allowed to use my own playmat in Regional Championship tournaments?
Yes, you are allowed to use your own playmats as long as the playmat is a licensed product. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed playmat.
Are there any entry fees?
Entry fees may be charged at shop’s discretion for Shop Challenges. There are no entry fees to any tournament in the Bushiroad Championship Series 2017 Regional Championships. However, players may have to pay to enter the venue if a Regional Championship is held within another event which requires an entry fee.
If I am not the citizen of any countries in the region where a Regional Championship is held but I am currently residing in a country in that region, am I able to participate that Regional Championship?

No, you cannot. You may only use the BYE card on the 1st Day of Cardfight!! Vanguard Regional Championship.
Will I be disadvantaged if I am given free BYEs at Regional Championship tournaments?
No, the free BYEs are offered to Shop Challenge champions as an award, and players granted with free BYEs will definitely have more advantage over other players. For pairing, a BYE is considered as a Win; for tie-break, it is based on the Opponents’ Winning Percentage, wherein BYE rounds are not counted.
For more details and FAQ related to BYE Cards, please refer to Shop Challenge section.

Participants may participate in multiple BCS Regional Championships, as long as the eligibility is fulfilled. However, if a participant has received an invitation to the World Finals from a previous Regional Championship of any game, that participant may not be able to receive another invitation. Should the participant win at any other Regional Championship again, the invitation will be passed down to the next available candidate.
